Book Week

4 September 2019 | General Interest

Last Tuesday, St Michael's school community had a wonderful day celebrating our love of books and reading by dressing up as our favourite book characters.  After assembling for a whole school dress up parade, we broke into small multi grade level groups to complete fun book related activities.

St Michael's entire parent community supported the children to be involved in the day. The care taken was very obvious by the way the children presented at school.  It was great to see some of our parents who were able to be present at our parade.  It certainly made all the children feel very special.

The intent of Book Week is to raise awareness of the value of books in children’s lives.  Reading books stimulates the imagination and expands an understanding of the world.  Reading helps our children grow mentally, emotionally and psychologically.
